CALI GARIoh yes... oh yes... I just love them and how they, like... connect the whole angura genre, y'know? I mean, just think about it... Ao knows everyone. :O but anyway... I like: Plastic Tree MUCC lab. metronome Kagerou Gargoyle Ya-foo! (I wish I could hear more of their stuff though ;-;) I don't consider Kagrra angura, but that's just me and everyone seems to have their own opinion on what angura-kei is. I always thought Kagrra was to bright. Sure, they dress traditionally, but their music lyrically isn't angura, imo. EDIT: ohoh.. and Guruguru Eigakan. them#nosmileys

I don't really think they are Angura either, but jic someone does, they know I like the band too. Kagerou's good also. Y'know I still haven't found much lab. yet. Do you know of any good sites?

If you have slsk, you can leech all my lab. stuff off my 56k ass. There's this one live of MATSURI (basically, American Darkness in sung really bad in Japanese + retarded dance & sloppy guitar) from Beauty-fools (sp?) Fest. It's the funniest thing in the world omg. XD Ao KUON is the most flaming gay man I've ever laid eyes on.

I'm not so sure what Angura-kei is yet. I don't think anyone does except the Japanese themselves. XD

According to wiki
Angura is a shortened form of the english word 'underground'. This is a cultural movement in Japan that dated back to the 1960's and had a great expression in independent theatre. It is a movement who influenced many manga artists who tried to find a unique identity for their own cultures. It also linked with the Eroguro style, but the main difference was that angura is darker and more formal. The use of Japanese uniform, kimono, or other traditional garb is very common in angura-kei bands.
Angura was also something more traditional I read sometime ago with traditional Japanese outfits and instruments and usually a female vocalist.

I associate Angura more with their lyrical content more than visual style (although it's still a plus XD). That's why I consider metronome angura. They defiantly don't look angura besides that smudged make up thing, but a lot of their songs are sad and heartbreaking sometimes.

Yeah, Angura-Kei really does have their own style of lyrics which is why I'm attracted to the genre.

There are a lot of debates on Kagrra's anguraism XD. I'm usually on the side that says they're not angura, but a lot of people think otherwise due to their "traditional" look.

;D I really don't know "Angura-kei", so I can't really say my opinion on it. Though, Lina's trying to get me into the style... any suggestions on bands?
