TOKYO Feb. 4 Kyodo - Support for the possibility of a female ascending the Chrysanthemum throne dominated the House of Representatives Research Commission on the Constitution in a session Thursday. The issue recently came to the fore as the government launched a panel of renowned figures last month to advise Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on the possibility as no male heir has been born since 1965.
I hope this is a preview of things to come.
