52 Tokyo teachers receive pay cuts, reprimands over national anthem
TOKYO — The Tokyo metropolitan government's board of education on Thursday cut the salaries of 14 teachers and reprimanded 38 others for not obeying the orders of school principals to stand up to sing the "Kimigayo" national anthem during graduation ceremonies held in March, board members said.
Of the 52, four received a 10% cut in monthly salary for six months for not obeying the orders for three years in a row, 10 got a 10% monthly salary cut for a month for disobeying for two consecutive years and the remaining 38 were reprimanded for disobeying for the first time, they said.
As I said before, THIS is forcing national beliefs on someone.
