TOKYO — The Justice Ministry will revise the designs of bedding and uniforms for male prisoners as part of efforts to improve how they are treated, ministry sources said Saturday. Male prisoners have used futons with vertical orange and green stripes since around 1950.
But psychologists advised ministry officials that these two clashing colors make prisoners nervous and aggressive. The psychologists pointed out the prison clothes — gray casual wear and yellow-green work uniforms — "lack brightness." They urged the ministry officials to use brown and other warm colors for mattresses, and light blue and mint green for clothes.
Woooooooooow, hahahahaha. I don't know what to say.
