University to compensate children injured in 2001 stabbing spree
OSAKA — Osaka Kyoiku University will pay 100 million yen in compensation to eight children at its affiliate elementary school for a stabbing rampage by an intruder in 2001, sources said Thursday.
The university, admitting it failed to provide adequate security, will also apologize to the victims and sign an agreement with them for the payment, which includes compensation for posttraumatic stress disorder suffered by the children, the sources said. (Kyodo News)
I think the some schools should have taken this as an example to better their security system. If they would have, there probably wouldn't have been last month's stabbing.
