It turns out that FFXII and FFVII: DoC, two games that I was looking forward to weren't playable at this year's E3 although FFXII was at last year's. there's always the Tokyo Game Show I guess (pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase let G4 do a big special again).

Dunno if you noticed this because I just did-
June 1, 2005 - E3 2005 was somewhat quiet for Square Enix, with many highly anticipated titles showing up in video form only, or not making an appearance in any form. Of course, most notable was Final Fantasy XII's relegation to video trailer status, a year after the game appeared in playable form at E3 2004.
It looks like the company was holding out on us. Square Enix has revealed plans to showcase a number of playable titles at its upcoming Square Enix Party 2005 event in Japan. The list of titles includes many that were absent from E3. Here's what we'll be playing when we attend the event:
Final Fantasy XII Kingdom Hearts II Code Age Commanders Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 2 Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII Fullmetal Alchemist 3 Grandia III Heavy Metal Thunder In addition to these hot titles, Square Enix will also have playable demos of Final Fantasy XI, Front Mission Online, Everquest II, and Musashi: Samurai Legend. Appearing in video form will be Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Attendees will also be able to purchase rare goods and music CDs.
This big party takes place at Makuhari Messe (the hall that hosts the Tokyo Game Show and Jump Festa) on 7/30 and 7/31 from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. For the Japan-based (or those crazy enough to fly to Japan), more details can be found at Square Enix's official event page.

I heard about that, but now it will have less international media coverage which sucks.
