E3 2005: Smash Bros. For Revolution And guess what? It's coming for system launch. by Matt Casamassina May 17, 2005 - At its pre-E3 2005 press conference in Los Angeles, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata spoke about the company's next-generation console, codenamed Revolution. Iwata specifically revealed some of the games in development for the system.
Fans of Super Smash Bros. Melee are in for a doubly sweet treat. Iwata said that Nintendo is hard at work on a Super Smash Bros. sequel that will debut for the launch of Revolution. The system is scheduled to ship in mid-2006, according to reports. Better yet, this new Revolution Smash Bros. will take advantage of the console's Wi-Fi capabilities for online play out of the box. No further details on Revolution Super Smash Bros. have been revealed, but gamers can expect to hear much more on the anticipated fighter sequel in the coming months. Good news for VGTO, especially with the online play, imagine the national tournaments we might be able to jump into. Ridley and Meta-knight better be in this game.

Whoo~! Sounds good then we could keep on having VGTO tournies while being scattered across the country at diiferent colleges.
It seems that Nintendo's almost running out of their characters (good characters). I want to see Wario, Diddy Kong, and the Pikmin guy, have him do attacks with his Pikmin.

Nintendo has thrown most of their heavily popular characters into the game, but there's still sooooo many lesser characters that could be added- most especially from the pokemon series. It kinda pissed me off when I found out they added Pichu to Melee. He's fun to use, but there were better pkmn they could've put in, and worst of all, he's just a pikachu clone as far as most of his moves are concerned. Besides Pokemon, the F-Zero series has a ton of characters that look like they'd make good brawlers. They could put in Star Wolf members, Kirby characters, and like Lina said Diddy Kong, Wario, and Captain Olimar from Pikmin (he'd make a good Game and Watch-y type of character). There's so many character possibilities . It's hard to even predict who they'll use, because last time I could've sworn they would put in Wario, but instead they added the retro ice climbers and Marth and Roy who are from a series I didn't even know existed at the time. Someone said they'd like a 3-D roaming Smash Bros game, but I think it should remain simple 2-D movement...with the occasional 3 dimensional sidestep of course.

That's the problem though, it could get pretty repetitive if they end up just adding 2nd class characters. I'm still not really into F-Zero, but I suppose there are a few good ones as well. I would perhaps like to see Krystal from Star Fox, but please please Nintendo, no more Pokemon if you're just going to give us crappy ones.

I think it looks great, I really hope Pit from Kid Icarus and Mike Jones from Star Tropics are in it.
