TOKYO — Japan's current account surplus totaled 18,590.8 billion yen in 2004, up 17.9% from the previous year and renewing the highest level on record, the Finance Ministry said Monday.
The balance of trade in goods and services in 2004 posted a surplus of 10,156.5 billion yen, up 21.6%. The surplus in merchandise trade grew 16.7% to 14,310.8 billion yen, with exports up 12.3% to 58,306.0 billion yen and imports up 10.9% to 43,995.2 billion yen.
Wow, is the Japanese economy doing well, 177,156,470,364,017$ if I'm correct. I wonder how far America is...in debt.
