44% of Japanese college students can't pinpoint Iraq on map
TOKYO — About 44% of university students in Japan could not pinpoint where Iraq is located on a map, while 3% were unable to identify the location of the United States, according to survey results released Tuesday by an academic organization.
The survey, which also asked about the locations of other countries including Ukraine and India recently highlighted in the news, showed the critical factor was whether those students took geography courses while in high school, the Association of Japanese Geographers said. The survey was conducted from December 2004 to February, covering 3,773 students in 25 universities nationwide, and 1,027 students in nine high schools.
Hahaha I showed this Danica last night. It amused her, but she revealed that she didn't know where Japan was on a map either. Who think Bush could actually pinpoint Iraq?

Because they can't pinpoint Iraq either. They thought he was smart because he acted like he knew how to.
